Supporting adoptable shelter dogs through advocacy, community, & responsible action.

DBS | Different Breed Solutions Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting adoptable dogs often passed over through no fault of their own, while working alongside shelters and communities to create better outcomes for dogs and the people who adopt them.

The Dogs We Tag

Our focus is on the misunderstood and the overlooked. We do not specialize in puppies or "easy". We step in for seniors, the labeled "behavior cases," the overstimulated, the fearful, and the last-chance dogs others walk past. Most aren't broken they are untrained, stressed, scared, or have been failed. We believe the too much dogs deserve structure, patience, and the opportunity to succeed.

Community Involvement

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, DBS Rescue brings people together through adoption focused events and educational campaigns that help dogs find and KEEP loving homes. We partner with shelters and other nonprofits, and we support fosters and adopters with transition guidance (not just resources), so families feel prepared, dogs can truly thrive, and the community can come together to solve the challenges impacting dogs.

Foster + Adopter Initiatives

DBS Rescue provides structured transitional support to help the handler, the match, and the dog's long term success. Fosters and adopters receive transitional guidance and access to our private support group with shared resources, notes, and updates so families are prepared to handle the dog, not just own it, and can feel comfortable reaching out with questions or help.

Our Role & Expectations

DBS Rescue is not a trap-and-rescue organization and does not take in random or owner-surrendered dogs. When we have the capacity, we tag adoptable dogs directly from shelters because we believe supporting shelters is one of the most effective ways to be part of the solutions at ground level.

Our role is to advocate, create visibility, and help build responsible. community-based support systems that improve outcomes for dogs and the people who adopt them.

Dog-Friendly Events Often See 10-25% Higher Attendance

Events are one of the most effective ways we create visibility, momentum, and real connection for dogs and the people willing to show up for them. With a purposeful mix of creativity and strategy, we move adoptable dogs out of the background and into spaces where decisions can actually made. They give dogs the chance to be seen beyond a kennel card, and give people the context, education, and confidence to take the next step responsibly.

Our approach doesn't just increase adoptions but builds community accountability, strengthens shelter support, and creates long-term change! Learn more about event involvement from co-hosting, partnering, volunteering, or simply bringing a DBS Rescue representative to your space to help protect paws!
