Strong Dogs + Strong Humans: Success Continues at Texas Pros Weekend hosted by Destination Dallas

We're thrilled to celebrate another amazing event where DBS Rescue connected a dog-friendly gym’s strong community with some equally strong, adoptable shelter dogs.
On August 10th, we had the incredible opportunity to bring Chester and Wesley—two long-time adoptable dogs from the Sherman Animal Shelter—to Destination Dallas Texas for Texas Pro's Weekend.
These two big-hearted pups needed a little extra help finding their forever homes. Wesley didn’t waste any time—just an hour into the event, he won over a father and son duo with his calm, easygoing personality and was adopted on the spot.
Chester’s journey took a little longer, but what a transformation. Known for his big, stunning grin, Chester needed more visibility. After the event, people began sharing his story—one post even reached over 20,000 views in under 24 hours. For a new page and a shelter staffy, that was an incrediBULL achievement. Just two weeks later, Chester had families driving in to meet him. One lucky family met him fresh from a bath, and that shiny coat must have sealed the deal—Chester finally found his forever home.
